SPATIAL SIGNALS

In this abstract series these paintings work towards refuting the Clement Greenbergian dictum of modernist abstract flatness and explore three dimensional abstraction where illusionism, light sources and deeper space coexist. 3D films, computer games moving through levels, sculpture and contemporary installation inform these works. In other works shapes and shifting space on coloured grounds evoke contemplative scenes. Some works are simply shapes, where the emphasis is on surface, rich oil layering and spread paint.
