DREAM FIELDS

This series is made on wooden cutouts using three dimensional illusion with ribbon- like borders containing shapes in an elusive space. The structure refers to Frank Stella’s large abstract works of the late 1980s but I have used one piece of plywood and an imaginary 3-D effect rather than actual projections creating a make-believe space. Other works are flat, based on computer diagrams of the early 2000s, painted in a limited palette within a shaped cutout. The references to real world elements contrasts to the mysterious atmosphere in the works and their enigmatic presence.
