FACE VALUE

With these works I am building up a group of portraits. The first shown here are abstract portraits based on silhouettes of heads and using spreaders to create colour areas relating to twentieth century abstract painting. At the crossover of abstraction and representation I’m exploring notions of identity, anonymity and re-vitalised painterly languages. Also included are recognisable photo-based portraits.
